One of my favorite things about PEDAF is that it's a process designed to reinforce learning by tapping into 3 of our 5 senses: visual, auditory and kinesthetic.

The result of participating in an imaginary economy is personal and national debt caused by spending beyond our means on items of imaginary worth from soda to war. The recent sub-prime mortgage debacle is a painful example of lenders and borrowers staking their financial resources and their futures on imaginary value.
“We have been misguided in dismissing what people say about how happy they are and simply assuming that if they are consuming more … they are better off.” says Richard Easterlin, economics professor at the University of Southern California. There are efforts to devise a new economic index that would measure well-being gauged by things like satisfaction with personal relationships, employment, and meaning and purpose in life….
Our priorities are a statement of who we are. How we spend our resources reflects our values and our concept of worth,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. I therefore call our economy “imaginary” because it is based on choices that frequently have no real value and are often shaped by habits or glamorized images instead of by real needs. As a society we willingly spend to consume or entertain ourselves and unwillingly spend to meet important human needs. Salaries in America reflect these priorities.
Traditionally, economists, policymakers, reporters, and the public rely on the GDP as a shorthand indicator of progress; but the GDP is merely a sum of national spending with no distinctions between transactions that add to well-being and those that diminish it.
I was angry when I saw the delivery truck loaded with aluminum cans filled with sodas. Returning home from a concert at the middle school, I thought of the music teacher who had to make do with a bunch of second-rate musical instruments begged and borrowed from all over the school district just so her kids could at least have the semblance of an orchestra. How sad that we live in a society where soda commands more resources than teaching music to children, I thought.
Economic growth does not necessarily lead to contentment, and GNH instead focuses on the four pillars: economic self-reliance,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a pristine environment, the preservation and promotion of Bhutan’s culture, and good governance in the form of a democracy. Bhutan’s King felt the responsibility to define development in terms of happiness of its people, rather than in terms of an abstract economic measurement such as GNP.
Sustainable living is the opposite of the thrill of buying whatever one desires. On the contrary, it is a mentality of delicate balance where one thinks of the material and social consequences of what one uses. Sustainable living and consequently sustainable economy come from trying to consider taking and giving back equally. It is based on the natural rhythm of life that is sustained by systems that are interdependent and cyclical. Inhaling and exhaling, consuming needed nutrients and calories in order to maintain weight, energy and vitality are the biological counterparts of economic health. Overindulgence of the body results in ill health. The psychological counterpart of excessive appetite is selfishness that breeds dissatisfaction, fear and greed. These are the debt producers and the viruses that produce the symptoms of a sick economy.

But I now hate Windows a lot less. Windows 7 is finally stable enough to tolerate,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so my usage of it is now warranted.
1. Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) is a free anti-virus and anti-spyware program. It's all I use and I've had no problems. This will save you having to pay Norton or McAfee $30-$60 every year for updates. MSE was recommended by Kim Komando. She's the host of a nationally syndicated radio talk show on Saturday mornings (Komando.com) and calls herself the "digital goddess,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]." I listen to her sometimes on the way to and from the dojo,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Good stuff,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
I learned over 30 years ago from Napoleon Hill that "an open mind on all subjects" was the 9th of the 12 riches of life.
So, choosing to have an open mind,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I was able to discover that Microsoft Outlook was better at managing email, contacts, tasks, and a calendar than anything I could find on a Mac. And Windows machines were,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and still are, cheap!
For all you die hard Mac users out there, yes, I use Windows. I used to be a Mac snob: I used to hate Windows. I'm not exaggerating.
I use my Mac for more demanding audio and video recording and editing (Logic Express and Final Cut Express,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], respectively). I use my Windows laptop for nearly everything else.
And I love Microsoft Outlook! I never thought I would ever say I loved anything Microsoft made. But now I do. I guess now you could call me a more tolerant,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], EX-Mac snob.

That being said,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I use them both. Who says you have to be loyal to only one system? "Can't we all just get along?" I refuse to limit my options.
2. Make your own custom "Favorites" quick access toolbar. Create a new folder in your Documents (or My Documents) or on the Desktop. Name it "Favorites,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]." Save shortcuts to your favorite folders and files in this new "Favorites" folder (Alt + drag to create a shortcut). Shortcuts are links to folders or files or programs and have a little arrow at the bottom left of the icon,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
I still prefer Macs primarily because the system is more stable and user friendly and Macs are more reliable: they seem to last a lot longer than Windows computers.
Here are a couple of Windows tips for all of you Windows users.
Then, create a new toolbar for it on your taskbar. Right-click on the Taskbar > Toolbars > New Toolbar... Find and select the "Favorites" folder you just created. Now you have a quick drop-down menu on your Taskbar that is always available to instantly launch your favorite folders and files. VERY COOL!
You can get about 4-5 Windows computers for the price of one Mac. I think of them as disposable computers: if it breaks, buy a new one. They're only about $400-$500 for a decent Windows laptop. (I've had good luck with the Acer brand.)

This message came to me after my morning body sensation contemplation and it’s just getting better and more clear in its power since that moment a few days ago. I have been musing over the concept of what money means to me and how I felt about it for a long time. Finally though,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I really “get” how money manifests and although the concept is simple,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the manifestation takes a lot of personal work.
Spend time pulling up feelings of acceptance, feeling valued, cared for and just be with these feelings of love. Use past memories that felt good or focus on a pet or person that you’ve had loving moments together. Allow this feeling to just keep growing stronger until you feel it all over your body. Allow tears, sadness, anger,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], doubt to float in giving all these exiled parts of you this unconditional love. It takes practice but there is no hurry here. If you can only sit for 5 minutes and it becomes too intense, then stop. Presence is always present and it loves you whether you are being with it consciously or not.
I think you understand what I am saying here. I spent years working on the outside with abundance goals, strategies,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], processes, techniques but I was so clogged up with my own pain, nothing could manifest until I spent time healing this pain. I had to learn to love myself, not just through my ego or looking at my body parts. I have had to establish a connection to my true heart where only the pure, positive, holy Presence is. I also now see that without doing the body sensation work and acknowledging that any pain is my self-hate, I would still be struggling to manifest abundance.

So if you are hanging on to some anger from a past relationship or family member, that’s allowing Presence to flow only in what space is left. But then you also have fear too. Fear is a big real estate owner in our hearts. Keep going-what else are you hanging on to that doesn’t feel good. Do you wonder why you can’t manifest abundance? There’s no room!
Let’s create a visual example: See yourself like a container that is mostly filled with dirt (desires, thoughts, wishes, wants, needs). Let’s say it’s 80% dirt. On Monday, July 7, 2003 I started on an 84-day journey to transform my body and my mind, and win an International Fitness Challenge.

My waist size went from 38-inches to 33-inches. Then on January 28, 2004 at 6:00 PM, my wife said there was someone on the phone from Golden, Colorado. It was Porter Freeman, the director of The EAS/Body-for-Life Challenge. He told me that I was awarded 2nd runner-up in the 2003 Challenge.
I knew I had to make some major changes … FAST! I was sick and tired of being sick and tired … a lackluster father and husband … an unmotivated motivational speaker. The last line may sound funny to you, but it was a sad truth for me.

I envisioned myself being lean and muscular. I envisioned myself training six days a week and becoming stronger everyday. I envisioned myself eating clean and healthy foods. I envisioned myself wearing designer suits and having a six-pack of ripped abs.
Here’s the truth: I was a recent newlywed. I had just sold one of my companies. I had gained an extra 30 pounds of carry-on luggage (also known as fat). I took a hard look at my life and saw the situation I just described. And that’s when I experienced an “A-Ha!” moment — a personal breakthrough.
But I knew it didn’t have to be that way. I realized my fate, the rest of my life, was in my hands.

I remembered using visualization techniques to create my future and manifest my destiny. I had stopped that behavior. I remembered running on the boardwalk in Spring Lake, envisioning myself speaking in front of large audiences for high fees. I had stopped that behavior. I remembered sitting in the chair in my home office every morning before going to the gym and envisioning myself having a powerful workout, looking strong,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], muscular and lean. I had stopped that behavior. I remembered seeing myself on vacation in the Caribbean with my wife and kids having fun on the beach. I had stopped that behavior.
I call it “a matter of life or death.” Not death in the literal sense, which probably would have actually been a lot less painful for me. The kind of death I’m referring to is the death of self-belief, self-trust, spirit and the will to win.
All of the things I taught and actually coached other people about in the areas of personal development and success had slipped away from me.

From this mud pit is where great people are born. When we rise up and break the chains of self defeating thoughts, like the ocean, our rising tide will lift all boats. It is our duty to be the eternal optimists. It is our right to believe that anything is possible and we can. Here are a few tips on keeping yourself pointed in the right direction during trying times and most importantly how to infect the people around you with belief in a bright future ahead.
Assemble Your Crew. Group think works! Surround yourself with a crew of like minded people. Don’t have a crew? Find one. I would suggest meetup.com. There are millions of groups worldwide in every interest from astronomy to xylophones. If you have an interest you will find a group that supports it through meetings and proactive interaction. If you don’t find one you like, start your own and people will join yours.
Plan Your Attack. Now that you have your challenges broken into small pieces it is times to create your action plan. In case you were wondering,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you will be doing a lot of writing. Keep it all and put it in a binder. This will be great to look at later to track your progress. This is history in making; your history. An action plan will need a heading. The heading is what your want your outcome to be. Follow the heading with a series of steps it will take you to get there. Put due by dates beside each step. This will create a sense of urgency and will propel your plan more quickly. Finally write a paragraph or two of why you want to achieve this goal.
Everybody gets stuck in the mud sometimes. We all have felt overwhelmed by life’s challenges, especially in these tumultuous times we live in. Sometimes a person might like to crawl into a safe place and hibernate until it all blows over.
Visualize the Outcome. Everything we do as humans involves some level of visualization. From building the Eiffel Tower to getting up and making ourselves a sandwich every achievement started as visualization. First a thought comes to us, then we think about it or visualize it and then we take action to manifest it. It is how the brain works. Visualization is one of the most powerful tools you can employ. If you find yourself dwelling in the negative simply focus on your breathing and tell yourself “new thought” and block the negative thought until a positive one comes to you. If you do this enough you will find that the negative thoughts will come around less often.
C.A.N.I. --- Yes We Can. Have a commitment to Constant And Never-ending Improvement in all aspects of your life. This was a concept that Dr. Edwards Demming came up with. He was appointed by President Roosevelt to help re-build Japan after World War II. He also helped bring Chrysler back from the ashes in the late 70s and early 80s. You can see how a commitment to C.A.N.I. can change the world,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it did for Japan; it is one of the top industrialized nations thanks to a commitment to constant and never-ending improvements. In fact, in Japan they have the Demming Awards ceremony which is broadcast every year in Japan on national television much like our Academy Awards. If you could just adopt one principle from this newsletter it would be C.A.N.I. Yes you can.
Celebrate and Acknowledge. Whether you are a person of faith or have chosen a secular path,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], being thankful for what you have will only bring you more to be thankful for. Displaying thanks can be as simple as closing your eyes and being thankful to all that is for all that is. One form of thanks that has seemed to disappear along with the brick cell phone and the Ford Pinto has been writing. The Internet has replaced writing with emails, texts and eCards. While these all serve their purposes, actually sitting down, getting out a pen and writing a note or card to somebody is the best way to celebrate and acknowledge a person. So start writing cards and letters to people you are thankful to and even people you feel need a little encouragement. A little goes a long way. Give praise and acknowledgment to somebody who gave you great service,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a family member, a friend you have not seen in ages, somebody you owe an apology to and don’t forget yourself. Leave little notes of thanks to yourself for a job well done.
